Gee, my wife thinks I have a mental problem.  She may have a point, but it's not because I play LOTRO.  Hey, she doesn't know shineola about football, so that must mean something.

This little tidbit is entitled, "The weeks leading up to the day Avatars was born", by our humble narrator Pants Jones.

It is widely known that Az would troll and flame local and world channels in closed beta.  I'd be out questing in Erid and there she'd be, blah blah blah 'ing some poor schlep, wrecking havok and generally not being very nice.  **Editor's note - this must be a direct result of her upbringing in a circus.  More on this later**  Anyway, so there I was minding my own business and being VERY polite and uber helpful and here comes Az barreling along with a herd of bears (herd?) in close persuit.  Well, it was digital persuit, but you get what I'm getting at.

Back in those days, Az was this elf hunter chick with the best headgear in the game - the Carebear Hat **CAREBEAR STAAAAAARE**  but has since moved on to hobbits.  **Editor's Note - Az eats puppies** 

So, in the interest of keeping her alive long enough to enjoy the game, Az and I started teaming up regularly.  It was a sacrifice for me, having to put up with her snide comments and all the abuse that she would fling around in chat, but I stuck with her and she turned out to be a pretty good egg - for a midget.  After closed beta 2 was over, they wiped the servers but we had hatched a plan : we would secretly start a kin of us.  **Editor's Note - You are all a part of that "us".  I blame Az**  Fifteen or so arbitrary minutes after closed beta 2 opened back up, Az and I had rerolled our toons and joined forces. 

At this point, I told Mordread that I had joined a kin and he asked me, "Did you lose a bet?  Seriously, what the f***?"

Seems that I am surrounded by snarky commentators.  Anyway.

There have been a few memorable ex-members of Avatars, members that warm my heart thinking about them.  Ex-members that Az ran out of the kin like a scared herd of cattle being chased by clowns.  My two all time favorites:

1).  Princess I Need That - anything and everything that dropped, could be mined, picked or gathered, she needed it.  NEEEEEEEDED it....waahhhh.  /boot

2).  The name escapes me, but there was a player who DEMANDED to be hailed when he logged in and HAD to be informed as to what everyone was doing and he would chose who would be worthy of his presence.  He cried a bit in kinchat, then Az called him names and set his (digital) horse on fire.  I advised patience, but I think Az ate his soul when we weren't looking.  She's good like that.

I hope that you enjoyed reading about the birth of this Kinship.  I miss seeing all of you online, and I hope to see you in WAR sometime.  I'm on Bel'-something server, running a warrior priest (tee hee I'm a healer) named Canderous.  Some d!ck bogarted my moniker so I'm fubar.  Personal note, the brewery is coming along nicely.  If things continue the way they are going, I should go live (commercial) in another 18 months.

I was incorrect with the specs for WAR.  I am on Bechafen running 2 toons right now - Pantelones (dwarf tank) and Penitence (warrior priest).  Those who know me may find the humor in 1) me running a medic ha ha shaddup and 2) I figured that I SHOULD name it and play it as penance for all the tanks/dps toons I've rolled and got healers killed by proxy of my actions. 

Bechafen is a perm RvR server, so consider yourself fair warned.
